Jeffrey Immelt at Darden / October 31, 2006

  • After hearing Jeffrey Immelt speak today at Darden, it’s easy to understand why he’s CEO of the seventh largest company in the US. Here’s the podcast (.mp3, 14.4 MB), where you can hear Immelt talk about using size as an advantage to grow “a company the size of Nike every year,” the need for simplicity, coal gasification, trendspotting, PCBs in the Hudson, the question he’s been asked 5,000 times, and maintaining “a healthy disrespect for history.” The anecdote about the CEO of Japan Airlines at the end is hilarious. Enjoy.
